Synonymy. Stary in litt., 2018a: (proposing to consider parumpunctata (Storm, 1898) as a synonym of trivialis in stead of symplectoides, based on the examination of material of both species and a translation of the Latin description of parumpunctata, kindly provided by Louis Boumans, november 2018).
Description. Stary in litt., 2018a: (short characterisation: body colouration of E. symplectoides is light bluish grey in dried specimens, the prescutal stripe is rather brown than black; five more or less distinct spots are present near the anterior margin of the wing: at origin of Rs, Sc2, R2+end of Sc1, end of R1, and end of R3; in addition, some veins (especially transverse ones) are darkly seamed).
