Habitat. Salmela in litt., 2007: (a saproxylic species, most probably confined to dead Aspen [Populus tremula] trees, all records from Finland since 2004 are from decaying Aspen, including larvae found under bark (see also Stary and Salmela, 2004)).

Habitat. Polevoi and Salmela, 2014: 169 (probably a specialist of old-growth forests; in Karelia collected in comparatively old (over 100 years) herb rich Spruce [Picea] forests with high ration of Aspen [Populus tremula]; an adult was found under bark of an Aspen trunk, also reared from larva found on Aspen trunk).
Habitat. Polevoi et al., 2018: 3, 9 (saproxylic species, associated with dead Aspen [Populus tremula] wood (Halme et al. 2012); according to the authors data, this species prefers wind-broken Aspens with a diameter over 50 cm, fallen 6 years ago; it favoured the trunks colonised by Hyphoderma setigerum, Peniophora incarnata, Scutellinia scutellata and Lentaria afflata; see paper for details).
